I recently received my Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California Los Angeles and I will start as an Assistant Professor at Princeton University in the Fall, 2009.
My dissertation explains how the higher levels of global financial integration in recent decades have affected democratic accountability and prospects for income redistribution in developing countries.
I examine investors' behavior during elections, and I investigate the institutional and economic conditions under which capital flight, provoked by the victory of leftist candidates, is likely to constrain governments' capacity to respond to voters' redistributive demands.
